UAHU’s legislative team actively meets with local legislators to discuss policy recommendations and opinions. When needed, they will also testify before, and participate in Utah legislative committees. UAHU also employs a lobbyist, Michael Sonntag, to advocate our positions. Annually, UAHU sponsors a Day on the Hill dinner that over 90% of legislators attend. This allows members to mingle with lawmakers as they explain the association’s political positions.

On the national front, there is no organization that works harder than the National Association of Health Underwriters’ (NAHU’s) personnel to help stabilize the healthcare market and represent industry professionals. They assist with crafting sound policy for lawmakers, as well as testifying before congress.

There are many ways to get involved in UAHU’s legislative advocacy program. Make no mistake about it – your active participation is critical and greatly appreciated. Monetary contributions to the state and national Political Action Committees, Utah HUPAC and National HUPAC, are the lifeblood of the associations’ success and need funds to make a difference.
